Fixstory is an on-demand, subscription-based service that connects homeowners with the right handyman: quickly, easily and digitally. The target audience are the working class and senior citizens. I worked with Charles Ikem the product manager and user researcher for this project. I created visuals for personas, journey maps, user flow, information architecture, infographics/Onboarding screens, high & low fidelity mockups for this project.

Design Process

We first started out creating a persona which I designed to help guide us with our design direction

Then followed the sketching for the user flows and information architecture

Here below is an infographic design and onboarding screen that shows the easy process in using the Fixstory app

After some iteration in the sketches and some user testing and heuristic evaluations. I went ahead with the high fidelity mockup design as shown below.

In conclusion

I had challenges in getting enough user testing data. I had to rely heavily on heuristic evaluations. Designing for an on-demand based service especially for artisans can really be challenging which involves lots of iterations.
